The Cooperman Model #99, "Quahog" bass drum mallets offer a relatively shorter overall length with a forward taper grip(butt-end toward the head) and a teardrop shaped head.

The grip is within the taper and has the traditional groove style. A great stick for any bass drummer at any level or age. But is superior for smaller hands such as with junior bass drummers.
